I’ve known for awhile that Google has been skewing search results to bury information from the political right. Now the lid just got blown off showing how deep the rot goes, and if you use a credit or debit card ANYWHERE, you should be very concerned.
So, a while back I wrote an article comparing the city life mindset and country life mindset. We rely on many conservative news sources here, and that article primarily and that article was built mainly from an opinion column published at World Net Daily.
I have a good memory and ideas for articles here frequently send me to find some article I read months or years ago, but I’ve been finding it increasingly difficult to get results in Google. When I was pulling articles for “Tyranny of Progressives” (linked above), I knew the article I had read was from WND. Sadly, their internal search engine is junk. A few days ago I couldn’t get any results for searches there and finally just searched for “Trump” and got zero results. At WND. Something is wrong.
I could recall that the WND article I was looking for had to do with Earth Day, it compared a city girl and a country girl, and there was mention that the country girl’s husband has a business making furniture. As Google failed to deliver again and again, my terms had become “WND earth day husband furniture city country”. It seemed that no matter my terms, I could not get results, especially not from WND, even when using Google. So I switched over to see if Bing did any better. BOOM. Result 1 was exactly what I was looking for.
I’ve re-created the searches here for you. Notice the differences. [Click Images for larger view].
So, Google gives me Huffington Post and a bunch of other leftist news sites having nothing to do with what I’m looking for. Also, it wasn’t the only search I ran. I ran at least a dozen different terms with no luck. Looking at Bing, it not only has exactly the article I was looking for as number one, it now has my article based on it as result number two.
So a little over a month ago an internal engineer published a manifesto arguing from peer-reviewed science journals that men and women are different (duh) and that Google’s attempts to shove as many women and diversity hires into every nook and cranny of the company were destroying the company’s ability to actually do any business or create any products. It was ignored until it went viral, and then Google management lost their minds.
Breitbart pounced and opened with an article verifying political blacklisting via screenshots sent by verified Google employees.
Numerous individuals alleged to be members of Google’s management team have been caught bragging about forming blacklists to impact the careers of colleagues with different political beliefs.
In a series of screenshots from 2015 onwards provided to Breitbart News by a verified Google employee, individuals described as left-wing Google management employees can be seen discussing the ways they punish their colleagues both inside and out of the company.
The Google CEO actually came off vacation to publish a letter saying that while Google values a diversity of ideas and wants employees to feel free to speak up, the heretic is fired. Because Code of Conduct.
Breitbart has moved on to run a series of articles called “Rebels of Google” built from hot interviews with other conservative Google employees who’ve had enough. Here are some of the most shocking quotes:
Emmett concurs with our source. “A number of friends have privately confirmed this to me. I know there are efforts to demote anything non-PC, anti-Communist and anti-Islamic terror from search results. To what extent that has been successful, I don’t know.”
Emmett says he personally witnessed efforts from leftists within Google to bias YouTube’s algorithms to push anti-PC content off the platform’s “related videos” recommendations.
In Emmett’s view, it’s “only a matter of time” before Google begins to bias its search results against the Trump movement, Republicans, and right-leaning politicians.
Witch hunts are a well-known cultural problem at Google. The company is currently facing a Federal complaint filed by the National Labor Relations Board in April for interfering with employees’ legal right to discuss “workplace diversity and social justice initiatives.” The complaint alleges that Senior Vice President Urs Holzle and numerous managers in his organization actively stoked up witch hunts in 2015 and 2016 intended to muzzle low-level employees who raised concerns about the company’s practices. The trial is set for November.
Several managers have openly admitted to keeping blacklists of the employees in question, and preventing them from seeking work at other companies. There have been numerous cases in which social justice activists coordinated attempts to sabotage other employees’ performance reviews for expressing a different opinion. These have been raised to the Senior VP level, with no action taken whatsoever.
Senior leaders focus on diversity first and technology second.
It’s depressing, mind-numbing, and extremely stressful. It’s also harmful to your health. There were many days I couldn’t do any meaningful work whatsoever. I’d arrive at my desk and simply space out. Perhaps read Twitter or random Web sites. Perhaps fume over posts made internally by people who are very clearly proselytizing what amounts to religious dogma (of the social justice variety), and of course no one dares contradict it, because everybody knows it’s a quick trip to H.R. if you dare say anything against the antisocial order.
Or sometimes you get punched. I know at least one engineer did get punched in retaliation for something he posted — I am sure he will corroborate this to you directly.
Many Google engineers who could not cope with the constant hostility and the reminders that “you are not one of us” have left the company.
Why You Should Care
Well, if that’s how Google feels about folks expressing a view counter to the PC narrative (fire them and make sure they can’t get a job anywhere else), what else might they do? Aren’t they working on a self-driving car?
But seriously. You saw the quotes above about eyewitness of biasing search results and revenue streams to squelch anything that is Trump or Republican or Conservative. You’ve got my own searches to compare and can run a few tests yourself.
But do you use a credit or debit card? Not just online but in any physical store, ever?
EPIC points out Google now tracks in-store purchases by collecting billions of credit-card and debit-card transaction details and then links that personal data to the activities of Internet users.
You look at an item online, then later buy it in a store with a bank card, and Google is tracking you.
…The company, which saw about $79 billion in revenue a year ago, revealed its “undisclosed partner companies had access to 70 percent of transactions for credit and debit cards in the United States,” the report said.
